Some species of palms will grow just fine in the shade. Trachycarpus fortunei will grow in both conditions. In more shade the petioles will get much longer, but they still look awesome.
While I was in Key West fl I visited the Earnest Hemingway home, I picked up a couple pf seed I found that fell from a palm tree, Im not sue what kind of palm it was, but I thought I would try to grow my own palm. Well I soaked them in water for about 10 days, then planted them and about 5 months I started to see sprouts.
Can you tell me how I might find out what kind of species of palm I might have?
