I think you shouldn’t use tap water, atleast not straight from the tap because of the chemicals and metals in the water. I use water from my aquarium, it’s a good tip if you have an aquarium, use the water from it to water the plant, this way it gets nutrients too.

You will kill your orchids if you follow this lady’s advice because orchids are way more complex than “watering once a week.” Factors also include what your orchids are potted in, how old the mix is, what your humidity is like, how big the pot is, how big of a root ball your orchid has, what its watering requirements are (if it is an epiphyte or terrestrial), if it goes dormant ETC!!
