I tried the boiling water, worked like a charm, even though it turned it brownish, it was better than having crabgrass all throughout the yard.

Pouring boiling water on them is smart, I guess. But what if your lawn is like mine (huge!) I’d end up making a million trips out the yard with the tea kettle (not to mention the time it will take to boil the water each trip!)
