I live in northern Ky close to cincinnati OH. I have access to blackberries but Not where I want them. What is the best way to start a row of blackberries. Should I just go get a bunch of branches and stick em in the ground or place a bunch of cutlings into a 5 gal bucket of water and wait for them to take root and then plant? Thanks alot

Actually either way will work.If I were you I would take a bucket of water to the site where you will be getting the blackberries, cut some canes and as you do place them in bucket.Find your new location and just stick them in the ground keeping the soil moist until they begin to grow new leaves!

My property is full of wild blackberries but they are not very good fruit. I’ve planted a purchased blackberry. I hope I didn’t waste my money! I’m hoping I got a cultivated variety that produces better fruit.

does the cutting have to be dried out in order for it to root?
