Dr. Flowers on Health Care
Posted by admin on Nov 6, 2009
On June 19, 2008, a national protest was held in 19 cities across the country with regards to the health care crisis which impacts on millions of Americans’ lives. Activists in Baltimore City participated in the action. They mounted a picket at the corners of Lombard and Charles St. in the downtown area, where Care First: Blue Cross, Blue Shield has an office. One of the activists I interviewed was Dr. Margaret Flowers. She supports a “Single Payer Health Care System.” Advocates for change …

The USA pays more and gets less in health care.
It’s a great system if you are super rich, but not if you are poor or middle class …
Canadians wouldn’t even consider switching to the USA system.
BSBC of Tn wanted me to die ! I Had Vulva cancer and the OBGYN gave me VIOXX for it ! I was also turned away from Madison County Hosp. in Tn in 2003 and told sorry there was nothing they could do for me .I had to do a natural cure and it saved my life .
Sorry to hear of your plight. As someone whose household was wiped out by medical bankruptcy, I have total sympathy.
If we don’t get SIngle Payer Universal Health Care, I will never vote for another Democrat again. Third party only for me, from now on.

Wow, that was a great explanation, Dr. Flowers!
I am a CRNA (nurse anesthetist) and I too find that health care is denied to those who need it. We fail in particular our children and middle aged people who can’t get medicare but who have pre existing conditions. Please continue to advocate for patients . Our health care dollars are better spent in the clinic than the salary for CEOs who deny care to make corporate profit. We must make our voice count so others in our country don’t die because they were denied.
President Obama will probably offer some form of universal health care coverage. However, we need to fix the health care system as well.
