The top is for plastics and cans, and the bottom three are for clear, green and brown glass.

3) Continued: You're definitely right about all those cars in the way, driver must have x-ray vision :)

I'll do my best to get this truck in action again for you, I only know of Woollahra to still use this truck and that depends on the drivers being friendly if I can gettem on film. That'd be a great idea to get a shot of the "trough", don't know what the chance is of the shot but definitely worth a try...

1) That's the most probable method, same thing was done in Pittwater with the old bottles truck - was told one day the tailgate unlatched lol I don't think it'd be needed often, if at all, because they seem to chuck the glass towards the back so wouldn't probably clog up?

2) Yes

3) I wouldn't say they'd miss that many, they probably get used to the route and where all the crates are placed, but I'm sure there's the occasional drive-by?

Few other things I forgot to ask/mention...

1) I know you've answered several times that there's no packer, but how do they handle moving everything forward when the truck fills up? Just floor it and then slam on the brakes--LOL!

2) Does the body tip to empty?

3) How many crates would you say they miss on a daily basis? Seems real likely to happen with A. all the cars parked there and B. while constantly trying to keep up sorting...

Yeah as if there aren't enough places using automated bins. Be thankful there still ARE some places that have manual recycling
